I am a lady on the upper scale of age who remembers movie stars some of you have not even heard about. One of them is Yul Brynner. He was a great actor, a sexy dude with a voice that would melt your heart. His outstanding characteristic was that he was bald headed. Oh, yeah! One of his better remembered movies was called Anna and the King.

Imagine my delight when I went to see Dr. Gilbert for the first time. His nurses were delightful and kind, his surroundings conducive to tranquility, his equipment o utstanding. Once I was installed in a live private alcove, he finally walked in. Fortunately, I had wisdom enough not to jump out of my couch. But once recovered, I had to blurt it out “I love your hairdo, you look very handsome,” or something to that effect. He graciously said thank you and ran out. It took me awhile to realize that I really did not annoy him, this is the way he works, in and out and in again until all is well accomplished.

It is no wonder all he personnel are so very caring, he sets the example. He did a very good job for my teeth and I am sure he will continue to do so for a long time. He deserves a Bravo for his kind and efficient performance in our time. Las Cruces is fortunate indeed. If you have a chance go check some of his work. You will love it.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
I remember when Josiah fell in soccer practice, chipped his new permanent front tooth. He was very scared and so was I. I immediately called your office from the practice field. You were available to take my call and assess the situation. Josiah was able to get in the very next morning for a filling. It was so reassuring and calming to know I could talk with you to know how best to take care of Josiah until he was seen by you. We both appreciated how quickly he was scheduled to be seen.

You have been my dentist since I moved to Las Cruces. I have appreciated how gentle and caring you and your staff have been. I myself had a toothache on Sunday (way back in 1992). You were willing to take time out of your day off to take care of my tooth. I appreciate how you make your patients a priority. I have felt pampered and well taken care of many times by you and your team.

Thank you for taking excellent care of my families smiles. Thank you for assisting the Las Cruces community through Dentistry From The Heart. I have appreciated watching you and your team assist many people through this service. Thank you also for allowing you patients to assist you and your team during that day. It is an honor to be part of your team for the day!

Keep up the good work Dr. Gilbert!

We love you!

Dear Dr. Brian Gilbert,
Congratulations on your 20th Anniversary Celebration! You and your staff deserve to be commended for your dedicated service to the Las Cruces Community over these past two decades.

My first encounter with your office was to request a free video showcasing the services your practice provides. After viewing the tape, selecting you, as my new dentist was an easy one.

Warmly greeted at your office a bottle of water or orange juice, I knew I had made the right choice. You were very through at my first exam. You identified all areas where corrective dental action was needed and answered all of my questions. Mrs. Cynthia was very easy to talk to when we discussed my personal payment plan and the departing candy bar also really impressed me. To be sure, my first visit was not what I expected. No other previous dentist had ever pulled out the red carpet for me at their office!

I remember on one visit, I was talking with some of your sweet staff as they were prepping me. You came by and said, “ Be careful, with all this attention his head will get too big and we’ll have to rub Manteca on the sides of his head to get him out the door!” your comment surprised me and I thought it was so funny. Something a close friend would say to me. That’s what makes your practice so different. It’s very professional and yet a very friendly place.

I guess that’s why I don’t mind referring my friends to you for their dental care. The care you give your clients definitely sets your practice apart. Quality customer service is what you provide. For this I am truly thankful.

May you have continued future success. You sure do deserve it!

All the Best,

-J.D.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
Remember me ? Envision an elderly lady who carried her broken crowns and partials, in her purse, for numerous “please help” appointments. I was ready to give up my smile for a lost cause (old age).

You are a Knight in “shining (head) armor”. Between my sight, hearing and chewing, it was hard to convince myself that I was not falling apart. You had a major part in giving me my confidence back with all your patience and understanding during all of my visits.

Congratulations on your 20th Anniversary! Thank you and your team for giving me my smile back. PLEASE DON’T MOVE OUT OF TOWN!!

At the age of 77&3/4 years and “because of you” I’m smiling again.

Very Sincerely,

-H.W.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
A few months back I was sorting through some old boxes and came across a school project that was completed when I was 11 years old and in the 6th grade. This project was a sort of a personal reflections yearbook. It asked a series of questions that we were supposed to answer about ourselves. The purpose of this project was to hold on to this year book and reflect upon our childhood as adults. As I flipped through the pages of my personal yearbook I came upon a question that asked what the one thing I disliked most about myself. My answer was my teeth and smile

All through my childhood and continuing into high school I was tormented and teased because of how crooked and funny my teeth looked. I remember sitting in class and having my classmates constantly tease me about my teeth. I distinctly remember one time in middle school a girl sitting across from me looked me in the face and said “What’s wrong with your front teeth? Do you know that they are turned sideways?” I just simply told her “Yes, I know” in a saddened voice. The teasing and making fun continued through highs school but only worsened. Looking back at high at school it reminded me of how harsh kids can be towards one another. Needless to say my self-esteem was very low, I avoided social gatherings and tended to hang out with a close group of friends who accepted me for who I was.

It has been over 5 years now since I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting you Dr. Gilbert. I was 18 and a senior in high school when I decided a change was needed. I no longer wanted to be made fun of for my teeth and my smile. I credit you for having such a tremendous impact on my life, by giving me the smile that I have always wanted you have given me the self-esteem that I so desperately needed in life. I’m no longer as shy as I was as a child, now at age 23, I am always getting compliments on my smile now instead of bad remarks. People who know me tell me that I am constantly smiling and in a happy mood. Words cannot express how grateful I am towards you.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the things you have helped me overcome in my life. Thank you Dr. Gilbert for being such a kind hearted person and for helping so many people like me.

Many Thanks,

M.J.V.

Dear Brian,
It is a privilege to be included in your 20th celebration and your Memory Book. Thank you.

I have been a part of your Las Cruces-20-yr.-practice for 13 of those years. I have seen changes in office staff, office space, office procedures, and office bathrooms (thank you Mrs. Gilbert for you decorating skills where they count!)

I have seen a young, aspiring man meet some very high goals in his practice and in the community. I have the feeling that you, Brian, will never pull the plug on your ambitions. When I look at the name on your letterhead – Bright Star Dental- YOU, Brian, are that BRIGHT STAR! As I look at that letterhead and your career accomplishments listed to the left, I wonder if many of your patients realize that hours and years of dedication you’ve spent developing your skills that we all benefit from- the financial risk involved in starting a business of your own.

You are a success story, Dr. Brian Gilbert, D.D.S. and I assume that you have not done all this on your own? Perhaps parents, wife and special members of your circle? I’d like to include them in my note of respect and admiration as well.

CONGRATULATIONS!

From a patient, Friend and Neighbor,

-L.C.

Dr. Gilbert and his office has always been professional and way above proficient. He is the first dentist I can relax with and I appreciate the office always will to see me thru any emergency.

Also, I appreciate Dr. Gilbert giving his all when it comes to helping out those less fortunate then myself with his “Free” dental day. His generosity to many in the community like Jardin de los Ninos. When we first moved here my only dreaded moment was finding new doctors. Dr. Gilbert along with my other doctors was the “best find”. I admire you as my dentist but most of all the wonderful things you do for this very poor community .

May you and your family have a wonderful life. Thank you Dr. Gilbert for choosing Las Cruces to practice in.

-S.S.W.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
Congratulations on 20 years in Las Cruces!

I never would have thought I would say this- it has always been a pleasant experience when visiting your office! You and your staff are always caring and kind and thoughtful in working with patients.

An extremely nice gesture was in receiving a postcard for your office. Just prior to receiving your card I had to cancel a scheduled appointment. The postcard was wishing my son well on his upcoming participation in the district spelling bee which I guess I had mentioned when I canceled the appointment. Your office then sent the words of encouragement. What a nice surprise!

Your kindness is shown in so many ways- plus you make it possible for so many of us to have a lovely smile! Thanks again.

Sincerely,

-T.W.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
Congratulations on this most auspicious occasion! I want to take this opportunity to share my reflections on our long journey together… Providentially, I discovered your name in the phone book. I know in my heart that God lead me to you, as he puts special people in our lives to guide the way.

My phobia about dentistry has haunted me since childhood. Consequently, I had not been to a dentist in years. I was so frightened that you had come outside and talk to me on the sidewalk. Since then, I am your best patient, coming for six month cleanings! As testament to the transformation you have engendered in me, I now sometimes fall asleep during cleanings.

Although I need extensive dental work, you understand that financially I cannot afford it. I can barley keep up with my cleanings. You never push the issue and always patiently wait for that some time in the future when maybe I’ll be able to afford additional work.

Every time I visit the office, I am treated as a very special person, not the financially challenged person I am. I feel valued, no that’s the wrong word; I feel treasured… for that, I am eternally grateful… your staff, especially Cynthia (who holds my post-dated checks), goes above and beyond. They are true extension of you.

You are a consummate dentist so deserving of every professional honor you’ve received. More importantly, you are a consummate human being and a treasured friend. I can never repay your many kindnesses. Please know that you are now and forever in my prayers.

Love,

-S.B.

Dr Gilbert and his Team are the best dental team I’ve ever encountered. It’s a joy to walk in and be greeted by the sweetest receptionist and staff members. From my first visit and each visit has been the same. I was impressed with Dr. Gilbert’s sweet disposition and humble spirit. How he so generously appreciated the work of his staff members and how often he said “thank you” and “that was a great job”. I believe when you appreciate others they are more confident in their job and more willing to make sure they do their job to the best of their abilities. It’s just a warm and beautiful place. That’s why I love it.

-C.S.

I’m not sure if you would say we walked into your life or you came into ours but whichever way it was it was a true blessing for us. Felipe and I have blossomed as a business because of you! You are the hardest working man, dentist, dad, person we have ever come across. So in August of 1993 we began to be one of your labs. It has been a wonderful journey, can’t express enough how blessed we feel having your work. There are many stories I could tell within the last 16 years (wow…yes 16 years) but one I want to share is when one night around 3am our lab located at our home caught fire…devastation hit us hard. Dr. Gilbert, YOU, without thought wrote us a check for $10,000 to help us back together before insurance even called. You touch everyone’s life just like that I’m sure. You are one of the finest human beings there are. Las Cruces is a better place because you live here. Thank you for all your support, work, friendship, and most of all just letting us be a part of your wonderful work family! Have a great anniversary…YOU DESERVE IT!

Sincerely,

-F. & G. S.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
I was so pleased to hear that your staff was putting together a book to celebrate your anniversary! Most of my memories at your office are pleasant…ha-if a dentist office can be pleasant! Your staff is always so understanding and wonderful. They never judge you and make you feel like aren’t taking care of your teeth!!! (Really, do we all floss everyday!) This compliment to your staff only comes back to you, as the Dentist and owner of this very successful business.

I am one of those 1950’s babies who ended up with tetracycline stains and have endured some not too pleasant childhood memories. My mother was very sensitive about this and tried everything she could when I was a teenager to help, but just nothing did. Well adulthood came and I got over it, I learned how to smile without my teeth and I was ok. Then I fell and broke a tooth and it was going to have to have some quite a bit of repair work…so great, I can finally have at least the upper teeth pretty and white! Dr. Gilbert is always so kind, caring and sensitive. You can tell him what you’re thinking too and know he’ll listen.

It’s quite an accomplishment in this day and age to have a successful business. So congratulations, Dr. Gilbert and KEEP IT UP!!!!

Sincerely,

-P.D.

Upon our arrival at WSMR (White Sands Missile Range), NM, September 2000, to complete a Civil Service career, we began seeking our dental and medical services in accordance with our needs. To do this we made numerous phone calls and asked numerous questions regarding type of services offered and insurance acceptance. At that time we found that several dental and medical professions were not taking additional clients.

This was not the case with Dr. Brian Gilbert—he was taking clients plus he offered a different way of dentistry treatment—one that did not make you dread your visit.

Mike’s parents (B.G. and Nell Newton) visited us from Hobe Sound, FL; his step-father developed a dental problem and needed emergency care. No problem-Dr. Gilbert took care of the situation without hesitation. Later, as the hurricanes invaded Florida, Mike’s parents incurred major damage to their home and their mental well-being was disturbed. They decided to sell our and relocate to Las Cruces, in their words “running from the hurricanes---enough of boarded up windows, laying under mattresses in bathtubs, or being huddled in a closet for hours of ‘freight train like roaring’.”

They, like us, needed to establish new medical and dental contacts. Dental care was a cinch. Dr. Gilbert continued to provide the needed dental care until the death of Mike’s step-father. We also learned of the generosity of Dr. Gilbert when he offered his time and services, free of charge, to the needed, uninsured in the Las Cruces community. This is his way of giving back to a community for the trust and faith in him thus, allowing him to build a thriving and needed service. Through his continuing education into new and different dental technology, Dr. Gilbert offers many services to his patients that are not enjoyed by non-patients and at a reasonable cost. He also offers patient payment plans for those who do not have insurance.

By his generosity, care, and caring attitude, I believe Dr. Gilbert is following one of God’s principles, “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required,” Luke 12:48. He has been given the knowledge, talent, opportunity. He returns this to the community.

-M. & B. P

Dearest Dr. Gilbert,
Having good friends like Sandy Chavez is always a good pay off; especially meeting you fourteen years ago.

Since I had just recently lost my beloved husband, I was really having a hard time and my teeth were really giving me quite a bit of trouble. Sandy was working for you at the this time and made an appointment for me to see you.

The very first time I did see you, I knew, through positive energy I received from you, that you were Christ like!

Recognizing that made me feel at ease and all the dental word I had done was soothing. And that’s the way it has always been thereafter; with you working the “Honor” system with your loyal and professional team backing you up one-hundred percent.

Your sincere heart plus your love of Christ shows daily and God has really blessed you for your kindness.

May his continued blessings be with you and yours forever; for he knows that you are his faithful servant.

Maybe before you retire, hopefully I can afford to get my veneers. Ha! Ha! Wishful thinking??

Thank you for making not only me, but everyone else feel so “special”.

Peace and Love In Christ,

-N. A.

P.S. Thanks also for cards received

Congratulations Dr. Gilbert! And I wish you another 20 years.

It was the year 1999 when we moved here from Portland, Oregon. And I know about you before I arrived! Knowing we would be moving to Las Cruces upon retirement-I subscribed to the Sun News so we could see what was going on in this “small” city.

One day I opened the paper and here was Dr. Gilber--The dentist! A great ad and picture.

It was a blessing because my greatest concern in leaving Portland was finding a new dentist!

I had such a year of having to locate one I could trust.

I cut out the ad and took it to my dentist Dr. Merle Reasor.

I said “I have a picture of a dentist in Las Cruces and asked if he could check him out for me. He took on look and exclaimed loudly “BRIAN??” Yes you were highly recommended! Apparently he knew you from dental school, and yes I am pleased. You have proven yourself.

Also you have a great atmosphere in your office:

beautifully decorated

pleasing music

friendly,cheerful, and polite personnel

Sending a card when a patient has a birthday and when they are sick!

Thank you,

-J.H.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
Because we are longtime patients of your practice, we would just like to thank you and your staff for the professionalism, courtesy, and kindness of all.

Going to the dentist has become more like going to see family and friends.

When Randy had some major medical issues, your office sent a lovely card that was so much appreciated and so like everyone in your office.

You and your associated give back so generously every year by providing much needed free care to the community and that is so commendable and heartwarming. It sets a wonderful example for us all.

Do you realize that you are the guy that everyone would like to invite to dinner because you are so interesting and so much fun!

Sincerely,

-R. & D. W

Happy 20th Anniversary!

Dr. Gilbert is great. He is a Godly man who gives back to the community by mentoring teen-agers. He is a good family man and loves them. He is up on the latest in dental techniques and materials. He is kind and considerate to his patients.

I love his are work and the “leaves on the ceiling”! He has many talents.

I like the “goodies” he supplies: bottled water, juice, coffee, chocolate bars, flowers, and other things.

All in all Dr. Gilbert is a man for all seasons!

May God bless him and his family.

Sincerely,

-N.L.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
Congratulations on being in dental practice for 20 years!

I have been your patient for six of those twenty years. Every time I have come through the door of your office, your staff has made me feel very welcome. They’ve made me feel at home. You have chosen you great staff well.

The whole community of Las Cruces is grateful to you for your service through Dentistry From the Heart. How heartwarming it is to see that long line waiting for free dental service. I always think of how hard you and your staff are working that day and the amount of time and planning that went into it.

On a personal level, I appreciate how cognizant you are of my need for cool temperature. I remember the day you said: “Kay and I both enjoy this nice cool room. I guess that’s why we’re both so well preserved.” One of your sweet staff members had asked me just moments before if I would like a blanket which, of course, I refused!

My husband, Mike, was in the hospital for almost four months a few years ago. I had an appointment with you, and the receptionist presented me with a plant for Mike and a bookstore gift certificate. I was very touched and thankful. Mike paid you the greatest compliment when I took the plant to him: “Now that’s a real guy plant!”

Dr. Gilbert, I wish you another twenty plus years in practice. You are a blessing to your patients and to your community.

Sincerely,

K.C.

My fondest memory of Dr. Gilbert was directly after a hockey accident that landed me in the hospital in the middle of the night to look over my teeth and do some preliminary work. He then scheduled me first thing in the morning to finish up with his equipment, it took hours. I remember telling Dr. Gilbert that he was the best dentist in the world, I had a concussion and the hospital had given me something strong for the pain so it wasn’t really me. However, whenever I look back , now years later, and with some beautiful teeth, I think, Dr. Gilbert is the best dentist in the world, who else would be willing to do something like that and do such a good job as well. Dr. Gilbert, thank you for always being there with your skills and abilities ready to help.

Always your patient,

-A.C.

Brian Gilbert is the sole reason I now look forward to going to the dentist. I had never been to a dentist until I was a young adult and consequently had terrible teeth. Additionally, I had a few extremely negative dental experiences in the past. Because I had never had a positive exposure to dentists I had an irrational fear that was all consuming. The second I met him, my “white knuckles” days were over. On my first visit he asked me to smile and since I had hidden my smile all my life, I did not know what to do. He put his hand on top of mine, and said “it’s been a long time since you’ve smiled, hasn’t it.” His gentle compassion is what made the difference for me. That’s something you can’t learn…it’s inherent. As a patient, Dr. Gilbert makes you feel like you’re part of the team. I have recommended him to countless people as he is the best dentist on the planet.

My niece is currently in Baylor Dental School and after hearing stories of praise about Brian Gilbert, she was determined that she wanted to be that same kind of dentist for her patients. So, Brian Gilbert even inspires people he has never met.

-SLH

Dear Dr. Gilbert:
You are, hands down, the best dentist I've ever had. You balance professionalism and the highest expertise with sincere kindness and care. The way you run your office so smoothly, giving each patient individual attention and respect inspires complete confidence and ease on my part. All the extra goodies (greeting cards, flowers, prize drawings, etc.) only add to the experience. I've never referred so many people to a dentist before, but I go out of my way to let everyone know about you and your wonderful staff.

Thank you,

-M.L.

PS My husband, Wayne Lee, says "ditto" to all of the above and also thank you as well!

Dr Gilbert and his staff present a very pleasant atmosphere for the clients, always friendly and very down to earth conversations both from Dr. Gilbert and the staff. Your concerns are sincere, the dental treatments professionally administered and Dr. Gilbert has the most gentle hands that you hardly feel them when he is doing what he knows best-denistry.

The cards received wishing happy birthday and well wishes for better health or quick recovery from surgery are thoughtfulness not often received from other professionals.

It is a pleasure to have Dr. Gilbert and his staff take care of my dental needs.

Sincerely,

-I.C.

From the day that I scheduled my appointment - I have found it to be such a pleasure to come to Bright Star Dental. Everyone treats me with respect and shows their concern and care with the utmost attention.

The one thing that I would like to say specifically about Dr. Gilbert is summed up in a scripture verse - "Let you light so shine before men - that they may see your good works - and glorify your Father who is in Heaven". Dr. Gilbert doesn't want the glory - but clearly wants others to get the praise and credit and wants His Father in Heaven to be glorified.

-K.S.

My first visit to the dentist was when I was three. In the next 83 years I have gone to the dentist at least twice a year. Until I met Dr. Gilbert not one dentist had ever asked me what they could do for me. They just did what they thought best. On my first visit to Dr. Gilbert we talked about what I wanted done with my teeth, mouth and smile. At my age there weren't a lot of choices but he went to work and I became his greatest fan. He is a dentist committed to prevention. His work is complete and outstanding in quality. He is a friend. He always calls you by name, asks about your family and remembers your birthday. I also like the way his office is so welcoming and one never has to wait for long periods of time. I admire him for his work with patients but I really admire his gifts to the community. I volunteered once for his day of free dental work and was amazed at the numbers of people he helped. His scholarship program I think is absolutely wonderful. He runs a well oiled business and his team effort with his employees has paid off in being what I considered the best dental office around. We are fortunate to have him here and I am fortunate to say he is MY dentist. -B.A.

Congratulations, Brian, on 20 years of dentistry here in Las Cruces! It's no coincidence that the McMillans are celebrating 20 years of living in Las Cruces, too! We are so glad that we found you right off the bat! You've seen Michelle and Danny grow from squirming toddlers to (still squirming!) adults. You have been a steady positive influence in our lives, from keeping our teeth strong to those short but powerful talks about God.

May God bless you for 20 more years of service and grace!

Peace,

N., N., M., & D., M

I bought a summer cabin in the Sacramento Mountains near Cloudcroft when I retired. I decided to check up on the property one cold, winter day. When I arrived at the cabin, it was as cold inside as outside. Unfortunately, I saw a power bar that was lying on the kitchen counter. I unwrapped it and attempted to take a bite. I say attempted because the power bar was thoroughly frozen and as hard as a brick. Simultaneously with my biting down there was a cracking sound and a sharp pain. I had cracked a tooth.

It was the beginning of a weekend, so I left a message with Dr. Gilbert’s answering service and expected to hear back on Monday morning at the earliest. So I was surprised to quickly hear from Dr. Gilbert, himself, asking if I needed anything for the pain and reassuring me that he would be able to take care of my tooth problem soon. Then he apologized for calling so early in the morning, but that was certainly not a problem as I had been up for some time. As it turned out, Dr. Gilbert and his family were about to return from a well-deserved vacation and were in a much different time zone than Las Cruces. Because of the time difference between where they were vacationing and Las Cruces, he was calling me in what was literally the middle of the night for him, so that I would receive the call in the morning Las Cruces time. How considerate!!

Dr. Gilbert and his staff are amazingly skilled, amazingly organized and amazingly cheerful. He and his staff somehow actually make going to the dentist a pleasant experience. I am very fortunate to have Dr. Gilbert as my dentist. And similarly, the community is very fortunate for Dr. Gilbert’s “Dentistry from the Heart” program.

-Unknown

I have known Brian for many years - first as a student and then as president of the Phi Kappa Pi academic honorary chapter at NMSU, as a friend ever since and as my dentist. From the beginning, I felt surre he was destined to succeed professuionally, as a Christian, and as an asset to his community. May his next twenty or thirty or forty years be just as successful positively oriented and as beneficial to all of us as the past twenty.

Gordon Owen

Dr. Gilbert,
I would like to show my appreciation for you and all the work you do. It was in 2006 that my wife and I decided to make Las Cruces our new home. I was still looking for a job, but the pull was so strong to move that we stepped out in faith and my wife and son moved out here in July of that year. It was in October that I finally found a job and started finalizing the plans. I was still in my temporary apartment trying to get things settled and I received a prayer request that originated from a group in North Carolina that a fellow by the name of Pat Murdock was associated with. They had misspelled an e-mail address and it ended up in my box by mistake. I contacted them and let them know the situation so they could correct the address and send it on to the right person. I also shared my story of the move and uncertainty of finding a job and contacts in Las Cruces, Pat Murdock responded with some very encouraging words about someone he knew in Las Cruces:

“While I was at NMSU in my senior year, I met a strong believer, Brian Gilbert, who God used to strengthen my faith and Christian walk. Brian has a dentist practice in Las Cruces, he and his wife are both very musically inclined and are an active part of a local Christian church in Las Cruces.”

Pat also indicated in his e-mail to me:

“I believe that there is a good chance that this "errant" email wasn't a mistake, and that perhaps God had his hand in it.”

Dr. Gilbert, it is wonderful how the Lord brings people together and I thank him for leading me to you. May your constant words of encouragement bring joy and comfort to those you meet and care for.

Thank you for all you do,

-D.R.

Happy 20th Anniversary Dr. Gilbert and staff! I would like to extend my thanks to all of you and especially you Dr. Gilbert because you are simply the best! I have been to several dentists throughout the years of my life but have never met someone as professional and dedicated to his patients as you. You have treated me with the utmost respect and with care each and every time I have been to your office.

I do remember one incident though that was not my favorite. It goes like this; I had an appointment to have my last baby tooth removed and replaced with a bridge and remember requesting that the tooth that was to be removed saved for me. At the end of the visit the staff informed me that the tooth had been thrown away. This upset me greatly for personal reasons. The staff assured me that they would find the tooth and that they would get it to me. I have to admit that I was skeptical. The next day I had an overnight delivery package arrive at my home. Yes, you guessed it, it was my extracted baby tooth and it was placed carefully in a small purple bag bearing the words "Tooth Fairy" held by a white stuffed teddy bear with angel wings. I cried and felt foolish for making such a big deal in your office about the tooth but was ecstatic to find that there are professionals out there that will make an effort to go above and beyond to make it right for their customers.

You, Dr. Gilbert and your staff are awesome! I have the utmost respect and admiration for all of you. Have a great 20th Anniversary!!!

-B.R.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
I just wanted to say thank you so much for being my dentist. I am very satisfied and happy with my new smile! On all of my visits you have always taken the time to make sure all my questions and concerns are answered, in detail, no matter how busy your schedule may be. You're the difference in just being a doctor and being a doctor who genuinely cares about his patients. I feel very fortunate to finally have a dentist I can trust. Thank you so much for your kind words, all the beautiful roses, and especially my new smile! Also I would like to thank you for your professional and caring staff that are always so kind. Sincerely,

-D. A. G

Along our life's journey, we are very fortunate to meet people who become life-long friends. I've known Brian & Terry Gilbert for about thirty years! So, without question, Dr. Gilbert is much more than my dentist. As my dentist, Dr. Gilbert has provided exceptional care and has been very professional and meticulous which is what anyone would expect and don't always receive. However, Dr Gilbert has gone beyond that and has been very caring and generous to me. I know I am not singled out since his generosity extends to his other patients, family, friends and the community.

I am touched by how special Dr. Gilbert, Terry and staff make me feel.

BEST WISHES AND CONGRATULATIONS ON PROVIDING 20 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE!

I have only been a resident of Las Cruces for less than two years. When I needed a dentist, (being new to town) I went to the Yellow Pages and found your ad. Calling your office I was able to get in same day, and you took care of my problem.

Prior to moving here, I had gone to the same dentist in Phoenix for over 25 years, and I have since learned I could have been taken care of better.

It is truly amazing how you bounce around your office from patient to patient and treat everyone so well, no matter what their issue is.

The staff you have assembled is a direct reflection on you. Every single person I have had contact with, either on the phone, in lobby, or sittin' in a chair (looking at one of your paintings or counting leaves on the ceiling) has demonstrated, what I like to call the "3 P's"

PROFESSIONALISM
PERSONABLE
PRIDE

You and your team are to be complemented on what you provide to me (and all of your other patients) on a regular basis. From the offer of something to drink while waiting, to the carnation at the door, these are all elements that put you and your staff in a class all by themselves, at the top.

I can't think of any other professional, who provides free service, to those who are need, and provides scholarships to high school seniors. You are one of a kind.

Again, thank you for what you do for me, your other patients, people in need, high school seniors, and the rest of Las Cruces.

I still don't like going to a dentist office, but its getting better, knowing I will be going to your office.

Congratuations on 20 years,

-D. K.

Hey Brian,
Has it been 20 years already? WOW!

When I first became a patient I wasn't sure if you were the dentist for me, I was concerned at how quickly you worked and I wondered if the work would hold up. Time has proven that the work is solid. I actually like "going to the dentist" because everyone on your staff is kind and friendly and somehow they always remember my name. I really appreciate the interest you have expressed in my life as well and I'll always remember your efforts to comfort me while going through a most difficult divorce.

I wish for you and your family all the best in life and I look forward to the next 20

Highest Regards,

-M.C.

I first met Dr. Gilbert at a fitness gym. I saw him every morning bright and early, 5 a.m. to be exact! We would exchange pleasantries but it was too early for serious conversation. One day Dr. Gilbert came in and told me to come by his office that afternoon. So I showed up at his office and he whitened my teeth! His theory was that since he had to see me every morning he wanted to see a bright clean smile. Since then I have sent my whole family over and have been recommending him to everyone for years!

I'll begin by telling you that I'm a "chicken" when it comes to going to the dentist. I've tried to avoid having even an "annual" check up.

But, when I began having trouble with some of my teeth, I decided it was time to go.

I got lucky!

My first experience with the Bright Star staff made me feel "at home" and, confident in what I was being told and what needed to be done.

Dr. Gilbert's expertise and comforting manner helped put me at ease while in the dental chair. It was a totally new experience for me.......the guy who feared dentists!

Congratulations on the 20th anniversary of Bright Star Dental and a "BIG" thank you to Dr. Gilbert for all his kindness and attention.

Best Wishes,

-A.J. L.

My personal attestment to the kindness of Dr. Brian Gilbert...

This year has been very tough for me financially... I've had to file bankruptcy and lost my car. During my dental cleaning a few months ago, I had a question about something I thought may be on my tonsils. I wasn't scheduled for an exam, and I verified that during the appointment because I didn't have insurance nor the money for the exam. The person cleaning my teeth told me she would ask Dr. Gilbert to look specifically at that area of my mouth to make sure there was nothing there. Niether she nor I realized that any time Dr. Gilbert looks at any portion of a person's mouth it is considered an exam. Before I knew it, Dr. Gilbert swiftly completed a full examination of my mouth. Concerned, I asked if I would be charged for an examination. Upon hearing that I hadn't been scheduled for one (only was concerned about the tonsils), I had no insurance and no money for the exam, Dr. Brian Gilbert told me not to worry about it- It was on him. I couldn't believe my ears... I thought he might at least charge me a discounted fee, but he did not... I almost cried, right there in the dental chair. I was in awe that my dentist would do something that awesome, and at a time that I needed it most. I will never forget it and it definitely made me gain a whole new level of respect and appreciation for Dr. Brian Gilbert... I've always known he's done good work, but he also has a phenominal compassion for people that I have seldom seen exhibited by anyone in a medical/dental profession.

Thank you, Dr. Brian Gilbert, for being not only the greatest dentist I know, but also being one of the greatest people I know.
