I just want to say that my visit at Bright Star Dental was a very pleasant and very much appreciated the pleasant attitude of Marie Galaz who did the cleaning of my teeth. She was very professional and kind and knew her job well. She took the necessary time and was very attentive during the whole time and made sure I felt comfortable.

Thank you for the professional and most pleasant visit I experienced last week.  As one of your regular patients for more than a decade, this is the reason I choose Bright Star Dental.  Dr. Gilbert, I appreciate the standard that you have established in your office.  When asked who my dentist is, my reply is followed with several reasons such as: friendly and competent staff, a beautifully decorated office offering peaceful ambience (important to someone nervous about visiting dentists) and most importantly, your skill and talent when attending my dental needs. Each visit is pleasant and thorough such as Marie asking if I had taken my pre-meds and reviewing my history to offer recommendations. Marie completed my procedure with such finesse, I warned her that I felt like taking a nap!  It's true, I'm reclined, my chair is set on a gentle massage, Marie's gentle touch, I'm relaxed!   Another pleasant experience is when a staff member like Teresa is aware I am in for appointment, will acknowledge me and ask how I'm doing.  This definitely "brightens" my day. I share this with you because more often than not, I receive poor customer service when I am running errands,etc. therefore, when  I receive superior service I am going to express my appreciation  so those involved will know what a difference they make.

I moved out of Las Cruces 2 years ago but I still do the 45 mins drive to their office because I love their very attentive, caring and flawless service. Excellent experience with my first cleaning in several years. The staff is very polite and explains the procedure before hand. The cleaning was gentle and quick while still paying attention to every detail. I also had a recent experience with Dr. Gilbert placing a crown and fixing several cavities. It went so much better than I ever expected. I felt nothing. Now my whole family goes here! I also love the fact that all my appointments have always been right on time. I show up at the designated time and I go right in. They have even taken me on short notice with the same result.

I love the relaxing atmosphere at Bright Star Dental. I have always been seen promptly, never having to wait long at all. The receptionists are kind and efficient. Melissa has cleaned my teeth twice there and is always gentle and does an excellent job. Even if I am not due for a dental exam Dr. Gilbert still makes a point to come and say hi to me and make sure I had a wonderful experience.

01/08/2012 I went to Dr. Gilbert for a second opinion after receiving disturbing news about my gums and the amount of money it would cost to correct the problem. I had heard great things about Dr. Gilbert and his work ethic and figured, for the amount of money I was going to have to pay, I might as well pay it to someone that was going to be thorough and do a good job. I couldn't be happier with the service and care I received. Dr. Gilbert's hygienist, Mari, is very thorough and made me feel very comfortable.

 I broke an old tooth shortly before Christmas.  I called Bright Star Dental and they scheduled an appointment for me right away.  After x-rays and a short consult with Dr. Gilbert, I made the decision to have two crowns and a bridge put in as I had been missing teeth in that area for many years.  Dr. Gilbert and his staff are so kind, caring, and people-oriented.  They listen to your concerns (and fears) and make sure you are completely comfortable before and after any procedure.  Dr. Gilbert even calls to see how you are doing after your treatment!  First dentist I've ever had who did this.  My husband and I are both impressed with Dr. Gilbert and his staff of professionals.  I highly recommend Bright Start Dental.  Thank you Dr. Gilbert & staff for making me smile again!

     Fantastic dental service.  I go in for my cleaning every six months, plus Dr. Gilbert has been excellent in the crown department.  He is an very skilled dentist.  I would also like to comment on his staff, in particular Tonya and Melissa.  Tonya is always pleasant on the phone and in person - she always addresses me by name, which makes me feel welcome every time.  Melissa is the best for cleaning teeth - she is gentle yet very thorough, and very pleasant.  Actually all the staff are just great and always are pleasant and very professional.  My wife and I are tremendously satisfied and as far as we are concerned, you just can't find a better dental facility in town.  Thank you Dr. Gilbert and your staff for your continued excellent service.

    I remember when Josiah fell in soccer practice, chipped his new permanent front tooth. He was very scared and so was I. I immediately called your office from the practice field. You were available to take my call and assess the situation. Josiah was able to get in the very next morning for a filling. It was so reassuring and calming to know I could talk with you to know how best to take care of Josiah until he was seen by you. We both appreciated how quickly he was scheduled to be seen.

You have been my dentist since I moved to Las Cruces. I have appreciated how gentle and caring you and your staff have been. I myself had a toothache on Sunday (way back in 1992). You were willing to take time out of your day off to take care of my tooth. I appreciate how you make your patients a priority. You and your staff deserve to be commended for your dedicated service to the Las Cruces Community over these past two decades.

My first encounter with your office was to request a free video showcasing the services your practice provides. After viewing the tape, selecting you, as my new dentist was an easy one.

Warmly greeted at your office a bottle of water or orange juice, I knew I had made the right choice. You were very through at my first exam. You identified all areas where corrective dental action was needed and answered all of my questions. Mrs. Cynthia was very easy to talk to when we discussed my personal payment plan and the departing candy bar also really impressed me. To be sure, my first visit was not what I expected. No other previous dentist had ever pulled out the red carpet for me at their office!

I remember on one visit, I was talking with some of your sweet staff as they were prepping me. You came by and said, “ Be careful, with all this attention his head will get too big and we’ll have to rub Manteca on the sides of his head to get him out the door!” your comment surprised me and I thought it was so funny. Something a close friend would say to me. That’s what makes your practice so different. It’s very professional and yet a very friendly place.

I guess that’s why I don’t mind referring my friends to you for their dental care. The care you give your clients definitely sets your practice apart. Quality customer service is what you provide. For this I am truly thankful.

May you have continued future success. You sure do deserve it!

Remember me ? Envision an elderly lady who carried her broken crowns and partials, in her purse, for numerous “please help” appointments. I was ready to give up my smile for a lost cause (old age).

You are a Knight in “shining (head) armor”. Between my sight, hearing and chewing, it was hard to convince myself that I was not falling apart. You had a major part in giving me my confidence back with all your patience and understanding during all of my visits.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
A few months back I was sorting through some old boxes and came across a school project that was completed when I was 11 years old and in the 6th grade. This project was a sort of a personal reflections yearbook. It asked a series of questions that we were supposed to answer about ourselves. The purpose of this project was to hold on to this year book and reflect upon our childhood as adults. As I flipped through the pages of my personal yearbook I came upon a question that asked what the one thing I disliked most about myself. My answer was my teeth and smile

All through my childhood and continuing into high school I was tormented and teased because of how crooked and funny my teeth looked. I remember sitting in class and having my classmates constantly tease me about my teeth. I distinctly remember one time in middle school a girl sitting across from me looked me in the face and said “What’s wrong with your front teeth? Do you know that they are turned sideways?” I just simply told her “Yes, I know” in a saddened voice. The teasing and making fun continued through highs school but only worsened. Looking back at high at school it reminded me of how harsh kids can be towards one another. Needless to say my self-esteem was very low, I avoided social gatherings and tended to hang out with a close group of friends who accepted me for who I was.

It has been over 5 years now since I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting you Dr. Gilbert. I was 18 and a senior in high school when I decided a change was needed. I no longer wanted to be made fun of for my teeth and my smile. I credit you for having such a tremendous impact on my life, by giving me the smile that I have always wanted you have given me the self-esteem that I so desperately needed in life. I’m no longer as shy as I was as a child, now at age 23, I am always getting compliments on my smile now instead of bad remarks. People who know me tell me that I am constantly smiling and in a happy mood. Words cannot express how grateful I am towards you.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the things you have helped me overcome in my life. Thank you Dr. Gilbert for being such a kind hearted person and for helping so many people like me.

I have seen a young, aspiring man meet some very high goals in his practice and in the community. I have the feeling that you, Brian, will never pull the plug on your ambitions. As I look at that letterhead and your career accomplishments listed to the left, I wonder if many of your patients realize that hours and years of dedication you’ve spent developing your skills that we all benefit from- the financial risk involved in starting a business of your own.

Dear Dr. Gilbert,
I want to take this opportunity to share my reflections on our long journey together… Providentially, I discovered your name in the phone book. I know in my heart that God lead me to you, as he puts special people in our lives to guide the way.

My phobia about dentistry has haunted me since childhood. Consequently, I had not been to a dentist in years. I was so frightened that you had come outside and talk to me on the sidewalk. Since then, I am your best patient, coming for six month cleanings! As testament to the transformation you have engendered in me, I now sometimes fall asleep during cleanings.

Although I need extensive dental work, you understand that financially I cannot afford it. I can barley keep up with my cleanings. You never push the issue and always patiently wait for that some time in the future when maybe I’ll be able to afford additional work.

Every time I visit the office, I am treated as a very special person, not the financially challenged person I am. I feel valued, no that’s the wrong word; I feel treasured… for that, I am eternally grateful… your staff, especially Cynthia (who holds my post-dated checks), goes above and beyond. They are true extension of you.

You are a consummate dentist so deserving of every professional honor you’ve received. More importantly, you are a consummate human being and a treasured friend. I can never repay your many kindnesses. Please know that you are now and forever in my prayers.

Dr Gilbert and his Team are the best dental team I’ve ever encountered. It’s a joy to walk in and be greeted by the sweetest receptionist and staff members. From my first visit and each visit has been the same. I was impressed with Dr. Gilbert’s sweet disposition and humble spirit. How he so generously appreciated the work of his staff members and how often he said “thank you” and “that was a great job”. I believe when you appreciate others they are more confident in their job and more willing to make sure they do their job to the best of their abilities. It’s just a warm and beautiful place. I’m not sure if you would say we walked into your life or you came into ours but whichever way it was it was a true blessing for us. Felipe and I have blossomed as a business because of you! You are the hardest working man, dentist, dad, person we have ever come across. So in August of 1993 we began to be one of your labs. It has been a wonderful journey, can’t express enough how blessed we feel having your work. There are many stories I could tell within the last 16 years (wow…yes 16 years) but one I want to share is when one night around 3am our lab located at our home caught fire…devastation hit us hard. Dr. Gilbert, YOU, without thought wrote us a check for $10,000 to help us back together before insurance even called. You touch everyone’s life just like that I’m sure. You are one of the finest human beings there are. Las Cruces is a better place because you live here. Thank you for all your support, work, friendship, and most of all just letting us be a part of your wonderful work family! Have a great anniversary…YOU DESERVE IT!

I was so pleased to hear that your staff was putting together a book to celebrate your anniversary! Most of my memories at your office are pleasant…ha-if a dentist office can be pleasant! Your staff is always so understanding and wonderful. They never judge you and make you feel like aren’t taking care of your teeth!!! (Really, do we all floss everyday!) This compliment to your staff only comes back to you, as the Dentist and owner of this very successful business.

I am one of those 1950’s babies who ended up with tetracycline stains and have endured some not too pleasant childhood memories. My mother was very sensitive about this and tried everything she could when I was a teenager to help, but just nothing did. Well adulthood came and I got over it, I learned how to smile without my teeth and I was ok. Then I fell and broke a tooth and it was going to have to have some quite a bit of repair work…so great, I can finally have at least the upper teeth pretty and white! Dr. Gilbert is always so kind, caring and sensitive. You can tell him what you’re thinking too and know he’ll listen.

It’s quite an accomplishment in this day and age to have a successful business. So congratulations, Dr. Gilbert and KEEP IT UP!!!!

Upon our arrival at WSMR (White Sands Missile Range), NM, September 2000, to complete a Civil Service career, we began seeking our dental and medical services in accordance with our needs. To do this we made numerous phone calls and asked numerous questions regarding type of services offered and insurance acceptance. At that time we found that several dental and medical professions were not taking additional clients.

This was not the case with Dr. Brian Gilbert—he was taking clients plus he offered a different way of dentistry treatment—one that did not make you dread your visit.

Mike’s parents (B.G. and Nell Newton) visited us from Hobe Sound, FL; his step-father developed a dental problem and needed emergency care. No problem-Dr. Gilbert took care of the situation without hesitation. Later, as the hurricanes invaded Florida, Mike’s parents incurred major damage to their home
