Meet Dr. Brian Gilbert...

Professional. Approachable. Skilled. These are the words that describe Dr. Brian Gilbert, a gifted practitioner, instructor, and presenter who has received nationwide recognition for his work and is regarded as a preeminent professional in the fields of Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from New Mexico State University with a degree in Biology, Dr. Gilbert earned his dental degree from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, where he was named Valedictorian. He fine-tuned his skills through continuing education courses offered through the prestigious Baylor College of Dentistry Post Graduate Continuum and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, which is staffed by some of the world’s most highly regarded dental experts.

Dr. Gilbert is the only Accredited Cosmetic Dentist in Las Cruces and the El Paso Region of West Texas, receiving this distinction from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.  Dr. Gilbert has also been chosen by the Academy as a Consultant and Examiner.

Dr. Brian Gilbert has been a featured lecturer/presenter across North America, including in San Diego, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Vancouver, and has published several articles on cosmetic dentistry techniques. He is currently an instructor with Esthetic Advantage, a post-graduate program for cosmetic dentistry based in Manhattan, and teaches with a team of cosmetic specialists in Palm Beach, Florida. In addition, he has worked for both the Albuquerque Dental Study Group and the Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in Nevada as a clinical instructor.

Dr. Gilbert’s life-changing work has received nationwide attention. He is a recipient of the coveted Grace Ogle Award for Leaders in Organized Dentistry, the American Academy of Periodontology Award for Outstanding Achievement in Periodontics, the Pierre Fauchard Academy Certificate of Merit, and the Alpha Omega Award of Excellence in Scholarship.

In addition to being the only accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in Southern New Mexico and the El Paso region of West Texas, Dr. Gilbert is a member of a number of reputable professional organizations. These include the American Dental Association, the New Mexico Dental Association, the Southwest District Dental Society, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society.

Dr. Gilbert and the entire Bright Star Team are also active in supporting the city of Las Cruces by means of numerous community service projects throughout the year.  Each year in February, Dr. Gilbert and his team host "Dentistry From the Heart"--a day of free dentistry for the entire community.  In May, Dr. Gilbert awards the Bright Star Dental Healthcare Scholarship to 4 high-school seniors.  Each student receives a $1000 scholarship to continue their studies in college in any field of healthcare.  In the summer, Dr. Gilbert and the Bright Star Team hold a fundraiser or food drive for the Gospel Rescue Mission, an organization serving the needy in our area.  And, Each November 1st, Dr. Gilbert Hosts the "Halloween Candy Buy Back," an event that pays $1 for each pound of candy a child donates to Operation Gratitude, a program to send care packages to our troops overseas.
